Novotex announces a general price increase in the next near future.
13th April 2010.
We would like to draw your attention to the current situation of the raw material market.
Our leading indicators show us that the Q2 2010 is really one of the most difficult we have ever seen in terms of material availability.
The main reasons are the pick up in the demand of PU in Asia, and Europe as well; many plants are shut down for maintenance, or are running at 60-70% of the nominal capacity because of lack of the principal raw materials.
The shortage of the key raw materials and the significant ongoing price escalation are starting to strongly impact on our cost structure.
In addition to this, the substantial increase in energy and transportation costs does not make our life easier!
Despite all our efforts to keep our product prices firm and trying to optimize our costs, this situation will require us to review our price-list in a very short period.
Our effort, as a main target, will be to assure our production needs and your needs as well.
As soon as this situation will be clearer and we will know exactly how to move, our Sales Dpt will contact you immediately.

Novotex Group's Prevention Plan for Suine Flu
2nd September 2009.
Novotex Group (Novotex, Coim, Noreco Chimica, Novotex Sul Americana included) has prepared a contingency plan for influenza A (H1N1) in order to ensure continuity of supply to its customers.
These preventive and protective measures are:
- Avoiding to Novotex Group employees trips in the world areas recognized at greater risk for pandemic;
- Constantly monitoring the evolution of the pandemic situation by consulting WHO (World Health Organization) and Government websites;
- Constantly monitoring the health of Novotex Group employees through the analysis of absenteeism indices;
- Evaluating the possibility of giving their employees the flu vaccine when it becomes available.
Should also be noted that some of our products are synthesized in different sites in different regions of the world (Europe, Asia, North America, South America) and it’s therefore possible that a potential shortage of production in one site can be readily replaced by another, set in a different geographic area.
Novotex Italiana announces acquisition of the European Polyurethane division of Cytec Surface Specialities!
13th February 2009.
Novotex Italiana SpA has entered into an agreement to purchase the European business, technology and manufacturing rights of the polyurethane division of Cytec Surface Specialities (ex UCB) based in Drogenbos, Belgium. Novotex Italiana is a private company, part of Coim Group, based just outside Milan, Italy involved principally in the textile coating industry, supplying a wide range of polyurethane resins and ancillary products, including finishes, pigments etc.
Novotex Italiana is currently one of the world’s largest leading suppliers of coatable polyurethane resins to this market sector, with their materials being used in products as diverse as fashion garments, protective garments, water proofing textile , shoe industry, upholstery including automotive, sport goods such a soccerball, and medical applications
With this agreement Novotex Italiana will become one of the leading suppliers in Europe of polyurethane solutions, granules and dispersions used in the coating industry.
Apart from Europe, Novotex supply their products on a global basis to North and South America, Middle East and Asia with Sales Offices/Production Units in Brazil and Singapore
The deal will involve the polyurethane resins used for use in the water proofing and breathability of textile, leather and synthetic leather goods principally in the European market.
The factory of Cytec in Drogenbos, Belgium will continue producing these materials during a transitional period but production will be transferred to the Coim factory in Italy as soon as practical. However the agreement has been set up to ensure that there will be no interruption to supplies of material and that current customers of Cytec will continue to receive products as normal
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of February 2009.
This agreement enhances the technology position of Novotex Italiana in the polyurethane coated fabric market. It blends well into their current product portfolio and offers the opportunity to develop further into some of the higher specification, technically demanding applications. Mr Antonio Magni, President of Novotex said that this has been the strategic direction taken by Novotex over the last few years anyway, and this acquisition of further ‘top-end’ technology will allow to offer more solutions to their customers creating new opportunities.
The coated fabric sector in Europe has certainly come under pressure over the last few years, particularly from Asia. Mr Magni points out that this agreement will provide a strong platform for future growth of the business and represents a very positive development for Novotex as a company.
High technology ‘niche’ sectors are seen as where the opportunities for the future lie .
Reach & Pre-registration
22nd December 2008.
Novotex Italiana Spa with our group of companies, Coim Spa and Noreco Chimica Spa, has been involved with the implementation of Reach regulation for a considerable time.

The Novotex Group meanwhile cannot bind themselves today to subsequent registration, which will be made by our suppliers. Therefore we cannot promise the presence on the market of all substances; this decision will be taken at due time from our suppliers of raw materials.
We will not communicate pre-registration numbers as Reach regulation does not request the compulsory disclosure of this information after the pre-registration.

After pre-registration period, we will take care to contact you to collect the necessary information about use and exposure scenarios concerning products of your interest in order to grant they will be included in the registration dossier of substances involved in the production process.
Reach & Articles
Film distributed by our PM3 division are considered by Reach as Articles: they do not release any substance and therefore they are exempted by obligation of registration or notification.
